TALLADEGA, AL (4-20-10) - ARCA Racing Series veteran Patrick Sheltra will drive RAB Racing's No. 09 Ford Fusion in Saturday's NASCAR Nationwide Series Aaron's 312 at Talladega Superspeedway.

Sheltra, currently third in ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards championship point standings, will make his fifth career Nationwide Series start and first at Talladega.

His previous best finish in the Nationwide Series was in 2008 when finished 24th at Homestead-Miami Speedway in a car fielded by Jay Robinson Racing and Sheltra Motorsports.

The Indiantown, Florida native will compete in the Talladega ARCA 250 on Friday, April 23 in his family owned No. 60 Buffalo Wings & Rings Dodge before turning his full attention to RAB Racing for the Nationwide race.

"I've always had the utmost respect for Robby Benton and his organization in the NASCAR Nationwide Series," said Sheltra. "I'm honored and humbled at the opportunity to drive for the team at Talladega. Our expectations are high, but there is no doubt that with a little luck we can accomplish our mission."

Sheltra continued, "We feel that we'll have a car good enough to finish in the top-10 Saturday afternoon but our main objective is to keep the car intact and keep the RAB Racing team solidly inside the top-30 in the owner's standings. Nonetheless, we want to go to Talladega and prove that this team can run up front and contend for wins."

Ben Gable will continue to call the shots as crew chief for RAB Racing with Benton serving as Sheltra's spotter for the race.

The 23-year-old Sheltra has three career starts at Talladega in the ARCA Racing Series, including a fifth place finish in 2008.
