(TOLEDO, Ohio - June 23, 2010) - Summit Racing Equipment is the world's largest mail-order automotive performance equipment company. This season, Summit is making itself visible in a new environment: the ARCA Racing Series Presented by RE/MAX and Menards.
Primarily recognized for its involvement in drag racing, Summit Racing has supplied racers with quality, name-brand products for over 40 years. Headquartered in Tallmadge, Ohio, the company has three retail store and distribution centers, located in Sparks, Nev., McDonough, Ga., and Tallmadge. For the past 20 years, Summit Racing has offered special services to licensed NHRA and IHRA racers through the Summit Pro Shop. Now, this service is available to racers on the ARCA circuit.
Dave Arrington of Summit Racing visited Michigan International Speedway two weeks ago to introduce the Pro Shop Program to oval track racing through the ARCA Racing Series Presented by RE/MAX and Menards. Arrington was well received, as several teams invited him into the lounges of their team haulers to learn more about the program.
"We're offering the same program to teams in the ARCA Racing Series as we do in NHRA and IHRA," Arrington said. "While much of our product line caters to the drag race and muscle car markets, many of the same parts are used in circle track racing. Many manufacturers in our line make circle track-specific parts, and we carry products from over 800 different companies."
In February, officials from Summit Racing Equipment and the Automobile Racing Club of America announced that Summit Racing Equipment had joined the ARCA Performance Partners Program as a contingency sponsor for 2010. The 2010 Summit Racing Equipment Performance Partners Contingency Awards Program will offer $300 per event to teams brandishing the Summit Racing Equipment decal, and a $2,000 cash bonus at the season-ending Championship Awards Banquet.
"We're excited to join the ARCA Performance Partners program," said Jim Greenleaf, Motorsports and Event Manager for Summit Racing Equipment. "Working with the ARCA teams gives us the opportunity to showcase our expanding product offerings to circle track racers. ARCA has a diverse group of drivers, from experienced veterans to the up-and-coming stars of tomorrow, which makes for some exciting racing."
