Rougemont, NC - The #19 Brad Keselowski Racing (BKR) Checkered Flag Foundation Dodge of Nate Caruth had a strong weekend after a top-5 finish at Orange County Speedway. Caruth set fast time during qualifying, re-drew 7th, and finished in 5th place for the Saturday, July 28th running of the PASS South Southern Sizzler 150. Caruth said, "Our #29 BKR Checkered Flag Foundation team had a good car this weekend. I held onto my position, and saved the equipment for a majority of the race.
The last few laps I dropped the gate, and went after the field." Caruth continued, "My #19 BKR Dodge was up to 5th with five laps to go when a caution was flown. As we prepared for a re-start, it started to rain. The race was then called."
The 3/8-mile oval is an intriguing track, as it continuously challenges drivers through every 16 and 19 degree-banked turn. Crew chief Seth Holbrook said, "OCS is a fun track. Nate had a great finish, and can only expect his talent to continually shine."
Caruth's strong momentum is not only seen in his results, but also in his series points standings. He currently sits 8th in the PASS South and PASS National points standings. Cauth said, "I am happy about our points standings, but I try not to put a lot of thought into where we stand." Caruth continued, "All we can do is put our best effort forward, and let the pieces lay where they should." Caruth will carry his momentum into the 11th stop in the PASS South Series on Saturday, August 18th at South Boston Speedway.
