SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) State gambling agents accuse a Spokane Valley man of illegally operating a Web site that took wagers on NASCAR racing.

The Spokesman-Review reports agents arrested 54-year-old David B. Watkins in a raid Thursday at his home. He faces a professional gambling charge that could bring as much as five years in prison if he is convicted.

The state Gabmling Commission's Spokane office says gamblers paid money through FantasyThunder.com for a fantasy team of drivers and that Watkins kept about half the money and paid the rest to winners.

The site may have operated for as long as a decade. The investigation began when some players complained they had not been paid.
