Chevrolet Puts Josh Turner in the Driver’s Seat at food lion speed street
HARRISBURG, N.C. – Food Lion Speed Street and Chevrolet announced today that country music star Josh Turner will perform at the 16th annual festival located in Charlotte, N.C., on Friday, May 28. Beginning at 9:30 p.m. ET, he will take the Coca-Cola stage for a free performance.
Known for his deep, soulful voice, Turner recently released his fourth studio album – Haywire. He was inspired by the album’s debut single “Why Don’t We Just Dance,” which held the No. 1 position on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart for four consecutive weeks and also topped the Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart. On this album, he wrote or co-wrote five of the album’s 11 songs including “Haywire,” “As Fast As I Could,” “Eye Candy,” “Friday Paycheck” and “The Answer.”
The Hannah, S.C. native has sold more than four million albums and garnered three multi-week No. 1 songs (“Your Man,” “Would You Go With Me,” and “Why Don’t We Just Dance”). His debut album was certified platinum for more than one million copies sold, and his sophomore album, Your Man, was one of only four country albums to reach double-platinum status in 2006. His third studio album, Everything Is Fine, was certified gold in 4 weeks. Six years after his Opry debut in 2001, he was inducted into the prestigious organization, becoming one of the youngest artists to receive such an honor.
“Josh Turner has taken the country music industry and its fans by storm, and we’re excited to feature him on the Coca-Cola stage,” said Jay Howard, president of JHE Production Group Inc. and event promoter and producer.
“Chevrolet is a long-standing, valued partner of this event and to have them bring such a big name in country music to our region demonstrates their deep commitment to the fans.”
