CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) Richard Petty Motorsports says Kasey Kahne is leaving at the end of this season.

 

The team says in a statement Tuesday that Kahne informed them he will not drive the No. 9 Ford in 2011. Kahne has been with the team since 2004. He made the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship last season but was openly critical about the struggles at RPM.

Kahne is considered one of the top free agents this season.

Currently 26th in the standings, he has only two top-10 finishes this season. Many top teams are expected to bid for Kahne, including Joe Gibbs Racing and Hendrick Motorsports.
