The 2010 Academy of Country Music’s Top New Artist Luke Bryan will appear at Food Lion Speed Street on Friday, May 27 on the Miller Lite stage.
Miller Lite, also Bryan’s tour sponsor, is presenting the free, live performance at 9:45 p.m. ET. Bryan will join Rodney Atkins that evening as a co-headliner.
“Food Lion Speed Street and Miller Lite have an amazing lineup on May 27 with two country music stars kicking off the festivities – Luke Bryan and Rodney Atkins,” said Jay Howard, president of JHE Production Group and event promoter and producer. “Each year we try to give the fans and community more music, more drivers and more fun. It will be hard to beat the talent we have this year.”
Luke Bryan is currently enjoying the tremendous success of his Capitol Records Nashville album, Doin’ My Thing. The album landed at No. 2 on the Billboard Country Albums chart and No. 6 on the all-genre Billboard Top 200 album chart selling more than 57,000 albums in its first week of release, more than doubling the first week sales of his debut album I’ll Stay Me in 2007. Bryan is a Georgia native and recently celebrated two wins at the 45th annual ACM Awards as Top New Solo Vocalist and Top New Artist. Bryan’s latest single, “Rain Is A Good Thing,” is his fastest-rising release to date and follows the No. 1 hit “Do I,” co-written with Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood.
Musical performances for the event begin Thursday, May 27 at one of two stages – the Miller Lite stage located in the parking lot at the corner of Third Street and Poplar Street and the Coca-Cola stage which intersects with East Trade Street and Tryon Street.
Live entertainment, access to NASCAR’s brightest stars, and vendor displays from sponsors Food Lion, Coca-Cola, Miller Lite, Chevrolet and many more are offered to attendees free of charge. Gates open each day at 12 p.m. ET.
