COLUMBUS, OH – Austin Hill made his NASCAR K&N Pro Series East debut Saturday night, driving the A&D Welding/Overnight Wraps No. 49 Toyota for MacDonald Motorsports at Columbus Motor Speedway.  After recording a solid qualifying result of 13th, Austin was fast early on in the race before a flat tire put him a few laps down.  Hill and his MacDonald Motorsports team kept working and he was able to complete the race, finishing 18th.

“The car war really tight at the beginning of the race so we made a few adjustments during the first two pit stops,” explained Hill.  “The car was feeling pretty good after that until the right rear tire went down, which put us a few laps down.”

18 year old Austin Hill was showing experience beyond his years as the team made changes to the car during the early stages of the race.  Competing side-by-side with some of the biggest up-and-coming names in the sport, Hill proved he belongs racing in the K&N Pro Series.

“After we had the flat, I just tried to get as much experience as possible and make a few passes to get the feel for the car.  Overall it was a great experience and I really enjoyed running for MacDonald Motorsports.”

The MacDonald Motorsports No. 49 now sits 13th in the 2012 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Owner Standings.  The team will get a week off before heading back to Iowa Speedway August 3rd for the Pork Be Inspired 150.
