Ashley Force Hood leads qualifying

LAS VEGAS − Ashley Force Hood led Funny Car qualifying Friday in the SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals, powering her Ford Mustang to a 4.195-second run at 295.14 mph.

Antron Brown and Mike Edwards also topped their divisions in the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series event at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

In Top Fuel, Brown raced to the front of the pack, covering the distance in 3.881 at 316.60. Edwards had a 6.706-second run at 205.47 mph in Pro Stock in his Pontiac GXP.
